CHALK

Acid-free chalk is a wonderful product to add highlights or a touch of color to your pages. You can purchase chalks individually or buy it in sets that contain foam-tipped applicators. Here's how to use it:
Apply craft chalk to your paper with either the foam-tipped applicators, cotton balls or your fingertips. After applying, shake off any excess, and then place a clean piece of white paper over the chalked area. Rub with your fingers over the paper that's against the chalk to burnish it and blot out any excess. Remove the white paper. The blotting may be enough to keep the chalk in place. If you are after a light or subtle effect, apply the chalk very lightly and you won't need to do anything more to set the chalk. However, if you want to have a stronger, darker effect, you can achieve this by using a spray fixative over your chalked area to seal it. Don't use hairspray as a fixative-it's definitely not acid-free and will harm your pages over time!
